Being ‘kindness heroes’...

We all seem to be very interested in superheroes at the moment which is great although, of course, this kind of play inevitably often comes with undertones of fighting and super kicks which are things that we spend most of the time discouraging 🤔 so we have sourced some new superhero costumes and we’ve named them ‘kindness hero’ costumes! Children are encouraged to be kind to others when they are wearing the outfits and we have been thinking and talking about what being kind to others means. We have come up with, amongst others, giving hugs; tidying up and being best friends....We don’t want to discourage this area of play that the children love and are really interested in but we also don’t want children getting hurt by being caught in the crossfire of a superhero kick... hopefully the children will enjoy this compromise!
